It’s been a journey for me literally and figuratively! Thank you guys for reading and participating and just being good blogging friends. (Keep reading, there’s a contest!)

*************************************************
Now for the good part:)
a contest! for all you regulars and blurkers out there (blog lurkers….blurkers…a word I first heard of from Lulu)
Let me know what your favorite thing about blogs….either about your blogging or about reading blogs. I’ll enter everyone’s name into a hat next week and I’ll pull out 4 winners. I’m giving away 3 sets of 3 cards made by me…..and the grand prize will be a 12 x 12 layout with your pictures. Suitable for framing or if you are a scrapper, suitable for your books (duh.) If you win you’ll have to send me pictures first, but in a few weeks, you’ll have your very own joy madison original:) Who am I kidding, it’ll probably be at least a month, but still…I’ll make it worth your wait!

oh, you’re so sweet. Happy Blogiversary to you! Three years is an eternity in internet speak.
I love checking in on you and your gorgeous family. I’m so inspired by your photography and your honesty. Let’s see..what do I love about blogging? The inspiration, for sure.
Congrats!
What do I love about blogging? Know new people, new talents, see good links (like a library) and special not to be alone!
i love reading about people just like me… or NOT just like me–especially other mums. as a work-at-home-mum with another one on the way, it helps me feel a little more connected to others.
xoxo
sarah
ps happy blogiversary!! keep bloggin’, keep lovin’, and keep creatin’!
Oh fooey! I’ve attempted a comment, and it is not taking it! Am I too verbose??? let me see . . .
ah. ok that is the problem. alright. you will r’cv my response is two bits. sorry ’bout that!
WOW! CONGRATULATIONS, GIRL!! BLOG-ON!! YEA!
I am grateful for blogging, because it is an outlet that feeds my need to write; my need to express heartfelt emotions in a positive, constructive way; it gives me a chance to ‘be seen’ without leaving the comfort of my jammie pants; it connects me with family that I’ve not lived near my entire adult life.
I enjoy getting to know others; hear thier ideas; understand thier opinions and thoughts; and be wowed by some flat out amazing stuff. . .
But enough of that. On to the flattery. ~ BIG LAUGHING GRIN! ~
ah fooey. second half does not want to load. sigh. it was the best part!
well, I’ll save it . . .and load it again later.
hey joy, THREE YEARS! wowee.
here’s what i like about blogging:
well…. more specifically what i like about YOUR blogging:
djp72’s top 5 things he likes about JOY’s SCAPALICIO.US:
1} i live on the othger side of the planet, i have never met joy, jon, jaylie, jaden or journey madison {and i know all their names by heart} but i feel like i know them well, i have watched these kids grow upover the last 3 years…..
i love the fact that i really know and really love a family i have never met….
2} joy’s photographs.
3} joy’s absolute raw honesty.
4} joy’s love of Father God.
5} i used to think “scrap-booking” was for old bitty’s with absolutely no artistic or creative talent… joy has actually educated me with it’s posibilities.
oh and she has competitions!! {insert cheesy grin of someone who wants to win}
Happy Blogiversary! I’m a new “blurker” — I just found your website and I love the photos and layouts! What an inspiration! I like to blog because it lets me journal my thoughts as they happen… so that, um, if I don’t get around to doing a layout until months later, I can refer back and refresh my memory (or better yet, copy and paste). I like to blog because I love to write. I like to blog because I have a hard time remembering who I’ve told what. I like reading other people’s blogs because I get to see different perspectives on things, I get to see that other people have similar views as me, and I get ideas for all sorts of things, from blog topics of my own to gift ideas to layouts.
I have never had any experience with blogging until yours, but I love that I can look in on you and your family, see and read things that I would not otherwise get to know…and now I like other bloggers for the same reason…hey isn’t that like voyeurism (where is akeelah when you need her?)
anyway keep on rockin’ joy!!!
Hey Joy, happy anniversay, three years in cyberspace is a long time! The thing I love about others blogs is a new perspective, new ideas, knowing I am not alone, and when I am down and out they show me that there is still beauty in this world. As for my own blog, I just love going copy and paste and there is my journalling for a page, doesn’t get much better than that!
Happy Blogiversary Joy! I love reading your blogs, your children have become such a joy to see grow. The thing I love about blogs is that I have become part of a community while my kids nap in the afternoon. That I can sell my art without leaving my house. that I can find resources so much easier because people just like me have found stuff, evaluated it and posted it. It’s like a filter for google! I love the encouragement, the love, and the future meetings in person! And on a lesser note, I like that my typing and writing has gotten better.
Thanks for the reflection Joy! And most of all, thanks for becoming part of my blog-world.
i love that i don’t bore people to tears (as much) anymore with stories about my shorties.
i USED to talk about them non-stop.
i started blogging so that i could put the stories “out there”
and then just tell people to read my blog.
and, of course, i visualize all of my friends and family
reading all about the shorties and falling in love with them as much as i have.
happy blogiversary, joy! i am glad that our blogging has brought us together on this vast world-wide web.
wow wow wow! joy, what a great way to look back! like escrapbooking
and you look like you make a *mean* cupckake!! YUMMY!
Hello, Joy! And Congrats on making it THREE LONG YEARS in the blogging world! I am so glad that I was introduced to your creativity through random events!
I have 2 favorite things about blogging:
1-I love getting caught up on what’s going on in the lives of folks that I don’t get to see a lot.
2-I work at home and am by myself all day every day, so blogging is my communication with the outside world. It gives me a chance to vent, to express my gratitude, to tell all about good things happening in my life, and it keeps me from talking to myself!
Have a great week!
Joy, congrats on 3 years! I started one earlier this year and can’t get myself to update it everyday, so I think what you’ve got here is awesome! Reading blogs has sort of become an addiction of mine. I love to read other people’s blogs, so that I can keep up with what’s going on in their life without having to pick up the phone. I love the inspiration I find on blogs, especially yours, through the written words and the visual aspects. Your layouts are awesome and I would be honored to have a Joy Madison original. You ROCK! Thanks for all the inspiration, Joy!
My contest entry — what I love about blogging is that I put stuff out into the world and get honest feedback. I started blogging before it was blogging (journaling) in june of 2001. I put all my thoughts and feelings out into the world around sept 11th, I put all my thoughts and feelings out about my kids, my house, my dog, my life — and people told me straight up if I was nuts or right or right for me where i am right now.
I also love that it expands the notion of “neighbor” in ways that we could not imagine 10 years ago. I taught a class on internet, society, and culture and we discussed “love thy neighbor” one day. Who IS your neighbor? Who IS your friend? The person on the other side of the fence may be your physical neighbor, but someone 10,000 miles away could be your best friend. How you love and cherish both may be two different things.
And I’m glad I stumbled across Jon’s pictures one day, and you. Neighbor.
Joy, you rock. And happy blogiversary. I always love your site. I would love to find myself with a *small* bit of your creativity. I’ll keep getting inspired, and hopefully in 2.5 years, I’ll find myself with a blog that is more than just a photo album. Keep up the good work!
Joy,
Love your blog. I love getting to know people I would never normally meet. I love how it all links together. I love seeing other peoples’ ideas and creativity and letting it inspire me. And how so many of our experiences are so similiar, how those deep (and sometimes dark) thoughts are so not uniquely me, makes me feel less alone.
Eventually my blog will involve something other than my house, but it is what it is right now. I suppose I should start scrapbooking the house building pages now….. except, oh, that’s right, my craft room is currently storing stuff and is virtually inaccessible. Here’s to the eagerly awaited ‘just crafts & sewing and no storage’ room in the new house.

How could i miss your big day!!! im so glad you are around. i dont get to post much these days, but im always reading, and i love to hear about the kids, the struggles, and see how crafty you are. love the new banner! and again, happy day!!!
I wish I could remember exactly what I must have accidentally deleted…OPENED DOORS! That was it! Open doors to new friends, new crafts, more experiences, and new paths! And a special thanks to you! You are responsible for me picking up a 35 mm again and doing my best to become a prof. photographer! Love ya!
Joy – I so enjoy your blog, and even more watching your kids grow and seeing wonderful photos of them, photos by them. Happy Blogiversary … More great years and post to come. Kim
Joy,
Wow. I read through all of your links and you had me crying and laughing. Hormones- gotta love ‘em. Seriously, you touch my life with your honesty, beautiful family, and creations. You’re so talented and full of life. I admire you so much. This is why I love blogs so much. It gives us the opportunity to get to know another person where they’re at now. I am so blessed by my ‘blog’ friends, which includes you. Thank you for being an inspiration to me. I look forward to many more years of reading about Joy. xo!
Getting to know women who enjoy the same activities as me, value “everyday” art like me, hearing that life is perfect and not so perfect all at the same time, being inspired to take more pictures, telling funny stories and hearing that other people think they are funny too, sharing photos of my family, sharing my adoption experience…love it all!
By the way…i want to make a softie…where do you get the pattern for that kind of thing…
J
Happy – Happy Blogiversary! BRAV0! YAY! Wish u all the best – please keep it alive, the inspirations are truly “priceless…!”
Wow. Three years! (that’s about as long as the average person stays in a job!)
I love reading your blog.
Because it inspires me to create.
To never be satisfied with only planning for the future but wanting some physical (creative) evidence to show I am growing TODAY.
You make me feel expression is vital in every new day.
It’s been said already, but your honesty is addictive.
I’m drawn to your words because they are true, raw, real. and not always pretty.
I also feel i’ve grown to know you. I never had much chance to chat/talk with you growing up – this makes me feel our family is all still connected (and the older i get, the more important that feels).
Thanks! You’ve encouraged me countless times.
happy, happy, happy blogiversary to you!!!!
i have to say the best thing about blogging (both reading and writing) is the inspiration. i am truly inspired every day with every blog i read. whether it be a great craft project, a way to look at myself in a new way, or a way to learn something about someone that i will probably never meet in real life.
i do have to say, that i am truly inspired by you also!
here’s to another three years
What a great idea!
I love to read people’s blogs because i think that most people express themselves better in written form. Plus you get to (usually) see a side of people that they don’t present in person. Part of “blogstalking” is a deep seeded curiousity about other people. Probably why I love reality tv
I like to blog for a couple of reasons. One, it’s a great way to keep out of state family and friends involved in our lives. Two, I like to be able to have an outlet for my (random) thoughts. It’s like a diary that you share with the world!
Congrats on three years! You’re a blogging veteran
Bev
happy blogiversary!
Congratulations on your blogiversary. I am fairly new to your site and have really enjoyed it.
What I love about blogging is how it makes me see things a bit differently. I am always looking for how the ordinary day to day events in my life can really be quite interesting if you think about them in terms of what to post (hmm, I guess scrapbooking is like that too!)
What I love about reading other people’s blogs is how they inspire me to get creative. I see all the wonderful things everyone is putting together and remember how I love to do that too!
I believe my favorite part of blog reading is when I read someone else’s words, thoughts, feelings regarding an issue I am dealing with. That subtle tug within my chest or the welling up of tears as I relax in the knowledge that I am not alone. That’s my favorite part. Happy Blogiversary!
Hi Joy! I’m a regular blurker… I love blogging. My main two reasons are: 1. That I read so much that reassures me, that, yes… I am more normal than I thought. (or else there are lots of lunatics out there like me!) Either way, it makes me feel better.
2. That I find all kind of obscure stuff I wouldn’t find on my own, like cool links, and cool stuff to buy. It’s cool!
I have only dial-up internet where I live now, so don’t blog as much as I would like, but in FL I will have faster internet for more blogging… yay!
Happy Blogiversary!
Joy,
Congrats on your 3 years! I have become addicted to blogs, I love to read about what others find inspiration from and how they deal with real life situations. I love your blog and your honesty. No one is perfect, but very few would admit to everyone:) Keep up the great work, you layouts are such a inspiration to me.
Keisha
I love blogging because it gives me some focus and it’s fun to get feedback from like-minded people. I love reading others’ blogs because some of you guys are so open and honest about your lives, which is something I’m not ready to do.
Happy Blogiversary Joy! You’re a star and thanks for all your support.
Hi Joy,
I love reading scrapper’s blogs for inspiration, the latest news on products, events, clubs, etc. and to see what my fellow scrappers are up to. Also it’s a quick peek into other people’s lives that I find fascinating.
I especially like your photos and layouts. Very fresh look.
Happy Blogiversary!
ok – i’m entering…. hat picking be good to me
happy blog day again!
Joy – I love looking at your blog on a regular basis – especially your awesome photographic work. Lucky for me, I have actually met and scrapped with you! Love your artistic abilities in your photos and how you display them in your life art!
Happy Blog Birthday! I so enjoy visiting your site, and seeing pictures of your precious children. (Mine are all grown up and I will become a grandma this year) I also get alot of inspiration from your scrapbook layouts….one day I might even act upon that inspiration:)
Happy Blogiversary! I have never been one to blog, but enjoy reading the blogs of my friends/others. Your website is so unique and cute! I enjoy browsing to see what’s new!
may you have many more blessed blogiversary’s!!! joy you are a precious gift to the bloggie world! i enjoy the treasures we bloggers are, vunerable and honest, creative and inspirational! i’ve often thought that bloggers around the world, especially women bloggers could really honestly bring about reconcilation in a vast variety of ways. i think of the postcard swaps, quilt block swaps, backtack, tie one on, spt’s, and the many more avenues as a way to express love and peace to people in our neighborhood’s, cities, states even across the world. thank you for reminding me of both the inner peace through faith in christ and outer peace thru making friends with cool people from all over!!!
