Doing Hard Stuff
28Apr03
I have to do something uncomfortable and hard today. I don’t want to do it. I know that it is something that needs to be done, and I still don’t want to do it. I guess you know you are an adult when you do things you don’t particularly want to do….like change dirty diapers, get thrown up on, make yourself get up in the morning and not sleep till noon. etc etc etc. I’ve been an adult for a few years now, and it doesn’t really get any easier….I still don’t like getting up in the morning, and I still don’t like changing dirty diapers….well the diaper thing, I’ve gotten used to that, but its still HARD to do.

did you do the hard and uncomfortable thing?
did it work out ok?
what was so hard to do?
Why do you have to be an adult?
What’s with all the philosphical crap?
I did the thing, and it wasn’t as hard as I thought it was. It is a process that God is taking me through, and its not over, physically or spiritually, but I have gotten over the first hump.
Joel-mind your own beezwax and talk to me on the phone sometime nerd. Oh yeah, and don’t read blogs if you don’t want to encounter…..philosophical-ness:).
Hey girl, you the one that posted it on your blog… don’t get short with
aight fine – I’ll call you.
I found that usually the things we dread doing don’t turn out so bad in the end. I think that avoiding confrontation and other “hard stuff” is a B-family curse.
Its totally a family curse! It is also a curse from Adam! I think that it is more prevelent in our culture than we are willing to admit. We all would like to think that we are the only one that things are hard for. I’ve heard, things are hard all over, though.
troo dat – My wife is pretty good at dealing with that stuff, so I usually let her… unless it get’s out of hand, then I step in and bring order to it all (yeah-right).
For real though, if I see her going krazee or getting disrespected, I usually intervene.
